Healthcare workers play an important role in supporting people living with diabetes.

Effective self–care results in better health related outcomes and quality of life for the person living with diabetes. Our eLearning programs will provide Healthcare Workers with a basic understanding of diabetes, and how it relates to their work and the situations that arise from their role. By completing a course, participants will:

  • Gain a basic understanding of diabetes, and how to recognise signs and symptoms of diabetes in people in their care
  • Recognise the difference between high and low blood glucose levels, and know the appropriate action to take
  • Be able to identify and flag issues which may lead to the reduction in diabetes related complications such as infections
  • Improve their ability to support the person living with diabetes and have a meaningful and helpful conversation
